TECHNICAL SEO
OCTOBER 2026
Technical SEO.
However good the content, if Google cannot crawl the page, there is no ranking. In technical SEO, we crawl your site the way Google sees it and find pages that are not indexed, slow templates, broken redirects, missing structured data and URLs that duplicate each other. We do not stop at a report: we make the fixes on your platform or together with your development team.

- What does it cover?
- Crawling and indexing, speed, structured data, redirects, site architecture and duplicate pages.
- When is it needed?
- Before and after a redesign, when traffic drops and when errors pile up in Search Console.

- Included in our monthly SEO packages (from £390 · €450/month); a one-off audit is quoted separately.
WHAT WE DO
Scope of technical SEO.
Every finding is ranked by impact; once a fix is made, we verify the result in Search Console.
- 01
Crawling and indexing
robots.txt, the sitemap, noindex and canonical tags; resolving the “not indexed” reasons in Search Console one by one.
One-off audit: SEO consultancy - 02
Site architecture and internal linking
Important pages reachable within a few clicks of the home page, broken links, menu and breadcrumb structure.
- 03
Speed and Core Web Vitals
LCP, INP and CLS; large images, heavy scripts and slowness caused by templates. We measure on mobile, with real-user data.
Fast sites from the start: web design - 04
Structured data
Organisation, service, product, FAQ and breadcrumb schemas; error-free and consistent with the content on the page.
Structured data and AI search: GEO - 05
Redirects and 404s
Redirect chains, broken old URLs and old-to-new URL mapping during site migrations.
- 06
Duplicate and competing pages
A consolidation plan for pages that pull each other down in the same search, parameterised URLs and thin pages.
- 07
JavaScript and rendering
Whether the content can be read without JavaScript running; how Google and AI bots actually see the page.
SYMPTOM AND CAUSE
The symptom you see, the likely cause.
Technical problems often show up as a different symptom. In the audit, we confirm the real cause of these symptoms with data.
| Symptom | Likely technical cause |
|---|---|
| New pages do not appear on Google for weeks | Weak internal linking, missing from the sitemap, a wrong canonical or a noindex tag. |
| Traffic dropped after the site was redesigned | Old URLs were not redirected to their new equivalents, or titles and content were lost. |
| Low mobile speed score | Large uncompressed images, heavy third-party scripts, late-loading fonts. |
| Two of your pages take turns ranking and dropping for the same search | Both pages target the same search and drag each other down. |
| “Crawled – currently not indexed” warning | Thin or very similar content, a low-quality signal. |
| No stars or FAQs show in search results | Structured data is broken, incomplete or inconsistent with the page content. |
| Lots of 404s in Search Console | Deleted pages and changed URLs were not redirected. |
| Google shows the page in the wrong language | hreflang links are missing or wrong on a multilingual site. |
AN HONEST MATCH
Who it suits, and when it is not enough?
WHO IT SUITS
- Sites before and after a redesign or platform change
- Sites where errors and “not indexed” warnings have piled up in Search Console
- Sites whose traffic is falling for no clear reason
- Corporate and e-commerce sites with hundreds of pages
WHEN IT IS NOT ENOUGH
- If the problem is content or authority, technical fixes alone will not bring rankings.
- Without access to the platform or the code, the findings cannot go beyond a report.
- For a brochure site of a few pages, a large audit is unnecessary; a short check is enough.
PROCESS
How do we work?

- 03
Fixes
We fix issues on the platform ourselves or together with your development team.
- 04
Verification
We verify each fix one by one on the live site and in Search Console.
- 05
Monitoring
Regular checks catch new errors and speed regressions early.

Ask a question → What is technical SEO?
Technical SEO is the work done on a site’s underlying setup so that Google can crawl it without problems, understand the content correctly and index the pages: crawling and indexing rules, site speed, structured data, redirects, site architecture and the management of duplicate pages. It is the foundation that content and authority work is built on.
What does a technical SEO audit cover?
A crawl of the entire site; index status, robots.txt and the sitemap, canonical tags, redirects and 404s, speed and Core Web Vitals, structured data, internal link structure, duplicate and thin pages, and content generated with JavaScript. At the end, we deliver a list of fixes ranked by impact.
Does site speed affect rankings?
Core Web Vitals are one of Google’s ranking signals, but not decisive on their own; they make a difference between similar pieces of content. Their main effect is on users: a slow page loses visitors and conversions.
What does “Crawled – currently not indexed” mean?
It means Google has seen the page but did not consider it worth indexing. Most often this is due to thin content or content too similar to other pages, weak internal linking or a low-quality signal. The fix is usually to strengthen the page, merge it with similar ones or remove it if it is unnecessary.
What should you watch for in technical SEO during a redesign?
All old URLs should be permanently redirected to their new equivalents, titles and meta descriptions kept, structured data and internal links carried over, and indexing monitored for a few weeks after launch. The most common cause of traffic loss is missing redirects.
Do sites built with JavaScript have SEO problems?
If the content is only generated in the visitor’s browser, Google may see the page late or incompletely, and most AI bots do not run JavaScript at all. Serving the content ready from the server removes this risk. That is also why we build our own sites with pre-rendered pages.
How often should a technical SEO audit be done?
Always before and after a major site update or migration; beyond that, the error reports and speed data in Search Console should be monitored regularly. In our monthly SEO work, this check is done every month.
