An e-commerce design that brings the energy of toys to the screen
For Nimbus Toys, we designed a playful, brand-first e-commerce experience that brings the world of licensed toys — LEGO, Hot Wheels, Star Wars, Ninjago — under one roof and shows the brand's 'colourful face' through the eyes of children and parents.

Nimbus Toys’ message is clear: “The new name for toys.” For a brand that brings together some of the world’s best-loved licensed brands — LEGO, Hot Wheels, Star Wars, Ninjago — the site had to be more than a product list: a showcase that lets you feel the joy of toys on screen. That was exactly the design brief: carry the energy and colour, while keeping the brand in a premium, trustworthy place.
The visual language grew out of the brand’s mascot — a witch cat on a flying broom. With a vivid purple and turquoise palette, soft wave forms and large, bright product images, we built an interface that is playful but not cluttered. Navigation was organised not by brand but by the world a child loves: the “Themes” architecture turned LEGO, Hot Wheels and Star Wars into separate showcases to explore, so children dive into their own universe and parents quickly find what they are looking for.
The showcase serves two audiences at once: consumer shopping and corporate/wholesale (B2B) enquiries. Products — from light-up keyrings to stationery — are presented as heroes within a clear category layout. The result: Nimbus now has a brand-first, playful digital showcase that tells the “colourful face” of the licensed toy world and works for sales at the same time.
APPROACH
Built step by step.
Nimbus Toys is a toy brand that brings together some of the world's best-loved licensed brands (LEGO, Hot Wheels, Star Wars, Ninjago), selling both to consumers and to corporate/wholesale buyers. Design is at the heart of this project: building a showcase that is easy to browse and grows the brand's value without losing the joy of toys.
-
PHASE 01
Brand world & tone
The witch-cat mascot on its flying broom and a vivid purple–turquoise palette with wave forms: a premium, cheerful visual language that carries the energy of toys without looking 'cheap'. The brand identity runs through every corner of the showcase.
-
PHASE 02
Theme-based discovery
Visitors reach products not by brand but by the world they love: LEGO, Hot Wheels, Star Wars, Ninjago. The 'Themes' architecture turned licensed universes into showcases to explore — children find their own world, and parents quickly find what they are looking for.
-
PHASE 03
Product showcase
Licensed products, from light-up keyrings and night lights to stationery and storage, are brought forward with large, bright product images and a clear category layout. The showcase is built to make the product the hero.
-
PHASE 04
Retail + corporate (B2B)
One site serves two audiences: consumer shopping and a corporate/wholesale enquiry flow. The corporate section is designed as a separate channel for B2B buyers to contact the brand.
