A website for an architecture office building with natural materials
Bent CMB Mimarlık is an architecture office based in Sarıyer, Istanbul; its architects Chris and Çiğdem, both Carnegie Mellon graduates, design sustainable living spaces in the US and Türkiye. The site we built on WordPress puts the office's difference up front: timber load-bearing systems, straw bale walls and food-producing building facades. Four service pages describe the scope in detail, from design to turnkey construction and furniture, and a quote can be requested from every service page.
The sustainable building expertise of two Carnegie Mellon-trained architects (timber structures, straw bale walls, green facades) is the site's core message

Bent CMB Mimarlık is an architecture office in Sarıyer, Istanbul. Its architects, Chris and Çiğdem, are Carnegie Mellon University graduates who design sustainable living spaces in the US and Türkiye. The office runs the whole process in-house, from design and implementation to turnkey construction and bespoke furniture.
What sets Bent CMB apart is its materials and approach: timber load-bearing systems, straw bale walls, energy-efficient building envelopes and green facades. The ‘food-producing building facades’ that were the subject of Chris’s doctoral thesis at Carnegie Mellon are the clearest example of this approach.
We built the site on WordPress. It presents this expertise from the first screen, states the scope of every service clearly and answers the questions clients ask. Requesting a quote is never more than a form away on every service page.
APPROACH
Built step by step.
On an architecture office's site, visitors look for two things: what this team knows, and what exactly it will do on their project. Bent CMB has a strong answer: two architects with an academic background and an approach that combines natural materials with modern techniques. The site's job is to show this from the first screen and lead visitors to request a quote. The work progressed under five headings.
-
PHASE 01
The office's promise in three slides
The home page opens with three promises: Architectural Design ('Original. Modern.'), Sustainable Materials ('Natural. Solid.') and Green Facade Systems ('Aesthetic. Efficient.'). Each slide comes with a one-sentence explanation and a link to more detail, so visitors learn what the office does on the first screen. The design language is restrained: a black and white ground, an olive green accent, classic serif headings with italic emphasis.
-
PHASE 02
The architects' expertise as a trust signal
The About page tells the office's real strength. Chris and Çiğdem are Carnegie Mellon University graduates and have completed sustainable living space projects in the US and Türkiye. Chris specialises in designing with timber load-bearing systems and straw bales; Çiğdem focuses on blending these natural materials with modern construction techniques. Chris's doctoral thesis at Carnegie Mellon is on 'food-producing building facades': plant gardens integrated into the facade cool the building naturally while contributing to the household's food.

PHASE 03
Service pages with a clear scope
Architectural Design, Architectural Implementation, Construction and Furniture Production each have their own page. The Construction page sets out the turnkey process in seven steps: survey, feasibility and permits; implementation drawings and planning; procurement and subcontractor management; site management; quality control; testing, commissioning and training; handover with as-built drawings, warranties and maintenance plans. The same page covers the material approach (timber structures, straw bale walls, low-VOC finishes, passive climate control), occupational safety and photo progress reports. The furniture page describes bespoke production in wood, bamboo and low-VOC finishes that matches the building.
-
PHASE 04
The process and the questions clients ask
The working process is summed up in three steps: survey and analysis, design and planning, implementation and consultancy. The home page's 'No Question Marks Left!' section answers four questions clients really ask: how the project process works, whether sustainable materials make a project more expensive, what a green facade provides, and what experience abroad adds to projects in Türkiye. The blog has three articles: the future of natural materials, green facades, and architectural approaches that combine tradition with technology.

PHASE 05
A quote from every service page
A quote request is always one step away: the 'Get a Quote' button in the header, the form in the sidebar of all four service pages (name, company, phone, email, message) and a dedicated quote page. The forms are protected against spam with reCAPTCHA. Fixed WhatsApp and phone buttons sit in the corner of the screen; the contact page lists the email address, phone number and Sarıyer address. The site keeps the same flow on mobile.
